I assumed it was what you are saying but I've spoken with someone who has a K-1 and it implies it kicks off ordinary losses. Did you get a K-1 that actually shows income or view available tags

Can anyone speak to annual tax treatment for BPMP (and SHLX)? Both write ups point out that these are unique in that they generate real cash flow without capex. Does that leave the unitholders paying high... login to read the rest view available tags

Agreed Here's the problem owning BPMP - if BP buys it in, do you really want to be on the LP side of that with no rights? These buy ins have been brutal for LPs. view available tags

I think more likely BP just buys it in and consolidates it. There are very limited cash buyers of fossil fuel energy assets right now, including infrastructure funds and private equity. The midstream guys have... login to read the rest view available tags

Ril - I actually agree with re: the MLP structure itself - nothing wrong with a company having its assets in that structure, same as a REIT. They are the only two legally sanctioned ways... login to read the rest 2 view available tags
